The latest ads are coming from Apple, and not the people of Canada.
Fox News reports that Canada’s Advertising Standards Council says it’s now investigating a potential violation of the law when an iPhone advertisement is shown on a website or in a video.
The complaints comes after the CBC News series “Canadians Buy Ads for iPhones” showed ads for the iPhone, iPad, iPod and Blackberry.
A source told Fox News the investigation comes after several complaints were filed to the ACS in October, claiming Apple’s advertisements were in violation of advertising laws.
“I don’t think they’ll be able to get away with this,” said one complainant.
“Apple is one of the most trusted brands in the world.
People trust Apple.
If they’re selling iPhones, they should be able get away from these ads.”
Apple says the ads are part of a partnership with Canadian TV and Radio.
