Google ads are no stranger to controversy.
Many people are unhappy with how they are being used by the company, and in recent months there have been accusations of Google’s ad tech being used in the production of child pornography.
The first ad to make the news for its use of Google Ads was the 2014 campaign “We Are the World”, which starred Scarlett Johansson.
She appeared in the advert with her husband Sean Penn, who is famous for playing the role of Batman in the Batman films.
She was asked to take part in a virtual interview in which she was asked about the movie and said: “It was just a joke.”
The ad was criticised for being a blatant attempt to exploit the fears of young girls, who may have seen the advert as an opportunity to express their love for Batman and other superheroes.
There have been more recent claims that the ad used Google AdWords was used to target an actual child abuse charity, the Children’s Alliance.
The group was founded in 1998 and focuses on helping children who have experienced abuse and neglect.
In the ad, the narrator asks the viewer to send a donation, which will then be used to help children in the UK.
The ad featured the slogan “Children’s Alliance is for you, not for us” and it has since been removed from Google Ads.
This year, it emerged that Google has been paying Google AdSense partners to promote its products, including YouTube videos.
This has led to accusations that Google is using the ad technology to promote the ads that Google pays its ad partners to show.
The US Congress is now looking into the allegations, with a bill expected to be introduced this week.
A spokesperson for the House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform told The Telegraph: “We are aware of reports of ad tech which uses Google Adsense to target children, and are looking into it.”
We do not comment on individual cases, but we encourage anyone who has concerns about ads that use Google Adwords to report them.
“The UK has also been under scrutiny for using Google Ads for its online advertising.
In 2016, the BBC reported that the UK’s advertising agency had used Google Ads during a series of “brave and risky” online ads.
A spokesman for the BBC said that the use of AdSense for online advertising was “no longer permitted” and that Google would “continue to review the practice”.
